I’ve had the privilege of gaining much input into the art of songwriting, and also much experience, having written prolifically since my mid-teens.
- Aged 18 I released an album and did a mini tour with some wonderful musicians, including playing Greenbelt Fringe twice!
- In my 20’s I took myself to a number of Songwriting Weekend Workshops led by Chris Bowater, one of the great pioneers of Christian worship songs.
- In my 30’s I took part in a number of Worship Central songwriting retreats led by Tim Hughes and other HTB musicians. I also gathered with musicians on a regular basis from the church in Edinburgh where I worked as Worship Director.
- In my 40’s I trained as a Sounds of the Nations Local Trainer. This included an extensive module on Songwriting. SOTN are based in the USA.
- In my early 40’s I released another album of original material, STAY.
- I have regularly used some of my songs within worship leading over the past 15 years.
Over the past few years, I have taught individuals and groups songwriting. This included an MA dissertation on the power of a community written worship song. Please get in touch if you would like to explore investing in your own songwriting journey.
“Fiona is very sweet and encouraging towards all my ideas, she always pushes me to my best ability and has really helped me create songs that increase my creativity. She is very patient and understanding and probably the best teacher that I could have asked for.” Hailey, 14.
